I wanted to write this open letter of recommendation for Frank Devonshire, and his company, because I have been beyond happy with the service and experience I have had in my dealings with Mr. Devonshire and his company… As a REALTOR I deal with contractors, or specialists on almost a daily basis, having been in this business since 1986. I am very hard to please and have seen a lot of bad work done. Frank came to my house to speak to my husband and I about doing our roof. We had met with a few people including well established companies, but Frank was the ONLY one who showed up with a folder containing his licenses, insurance, and letters of recommendation… In September he put a 50 year roof on my house, new plywood, the works. The roof is beautiful and Frank accommodated every one of my minute requests, and provided me with addresses to go view colors. He was incredibly patient, his crew was phenomenally good and clean and respectful. When our satellite installer came to put the dish back up he even commented it was one of the tightest and nicest roofs he had seen. Two of our neighbors then had Frank do their roofs… — Maya J. In the early part of 2008 we contracted the company of Frank Devonshire to build an addition (approx 15′ x 20′) to our kitchen and to completely remodel our existing kitchen. This project included adding all new ceiling tile, insulation for new walls and ceilings, finishing the interior and exterior, a new patio area, new side walks, redoing some rain downspouts, re-grate and seeding surrounding grounds of the expansion kitchen… Frank’s workers were all highly skilled craftsmen and the project was done in a timely and cost effective manner. — Tony Santucci, Facility Manager.
We would like to express our appreciation for the high quality work you did on our new addition. The job involved removing a 12′ x 12′ deck, building an 18′ x 20′ 4-season room and basement in that location, and then putting an adjoining 15′ x 15′ deck over a new patio with footers (for a later screened in porch). With all those activities, there were plenty of opportunities for “Murphy’s Law” type problems to occur… When those problems did occur, you were able to professionally, and with good humor, resolve them. Unexpected changes in county building codes and interpretations by the inspector required a higher basement ceiling and a redesigned deck. We wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the superb job done on our home. The fact that you were able to complete an addition, new roof, basement entry with concrete work and install bathroom tile speaks volumes about the breadth of services provided by your company. The fact that you were able to complete all of those projects in about two and a half weeks with superior workmanship is a testament to your depth of skill. We enjoyed having your workers in our home and there were never a burden or intrusive. We particularly enjoyed having Frank around the house as he was always professional, courteous and provided us with daily updates on how the work was progressing (even though it was clear from day-to-day that things were moving along nicely). Frank was even cognizant of when our 16-month-old was napping and took care not to make too much noise during that time; truly above and beyond the call of duty. The others in our home were similarly as courteous and Louis’ painting skill and attention to detail are, in our experience, unmatched. Frank Devonshire has done 3 major projects on our home over the years. The first was in 1999 when he completely replaced our old roof. He installed a new roof with 3-D shingles. We called Frank back in 2006 after deciding to totally replace and update our kitchen and master bathroom, including doors and windows. After meeting with him and talking about our ideas and plans, he picked up on exactly what we wanted and went to work. The result is a kitchen and bathroom that is gorgeous, updated and spacious. The purpose of this letter is to provide a letter of excellence to Frank Devonshire, General Contractor, for the wonderful job they did finishing our basement. We could not have asked for a better, more professional job than they provided. Our basement was initially a nightmare to put it mildly. After dealing with two inept contractors, Frank Devonshire took over the job. Devonshire was able to fix all the existing problems made by the previous contractors, and complete the basement in a timely fashion. In fact, much quicker than we thought possible.
